Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is an incredible technological advancement to the field of dentistry.  A three-dimensional rendering of your tooth and surrounding jawbone can be obtained in seconds with very low radiation to the patient.  During a consultation or treatment, the endodontist can use these high-resolution images to evaluate microscopic cracks and diagnose pathology with a higher degree of accuracy.  This information can be extremely helpful in evaluating long-term prognosis of compromised teeth.  For the patient, this means a higher degree of clarity in deciding between endodontic treatment or extraction.
