What to Expect
What to expect
Your procedure will be performed using local anesthetic. Root canal therapy often takes longer than a filling or cleaning. After the procedure, our office will send a copy of the treatment to your dentist. It is important that you follow up with your dentist for a permanent restoration within 2-3 weeks after root canal therapy.
Anxiety
We get it. Some patients may not look forward to endodontic treatment. Our philosophy is to provide comfortable endodontic care of the highest quality. In addition to local anesthetic, our office provides the following options if your medical history deems these appropriate:
- Nitrous oxide: Commonly referred to as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a safe, inhaled gas. This option does not require you bring a driver for your appointment.
- Oral sedation: A safe oral tablet administered 1 hour prior to your appointment. You will need to bring a driver for your appointment.
